Charlotte Perrin’s artworks involve a certain form of fragility and temporality due the precarious nature of their materiality, and their mode of appearance. In the work Standbilder (roughly translated as “Stills” or “Standing Images” in English), five photographs of a watery surface printed on glass are displayed in a double row between two identical concrete casts, which maintain the glass panes in an upright position. The image support, which is made of glass, echoes the motif of water through its transparency, taking on a sculptural quality. The piece can thus stand freely in the space.
