Scenario is an installation of monochrome silkscreen prints on tv packaging and neon tubes. The installation produces a striking atmosphere that oscillates somewhere between steam punk and post-gentrification. Outdated lighting technology is put in contrast to commodities, modified by minimal intervention. Language is used to oppose written text to the original labeling of the packaging.
Artist Statement
My work is a lot about my past, present and future. Things that have been important to me are coming back regularly. I am referring to topics with regard to art as well as to personal matters. The materials and techniques I use reflect the past; they have ether been used before or been loaded from the beginning. What I am doing is putting those materials, techniques and things in contrast with my present state of mind. It is about how the perception of all this can be changed through this process.
