Illuminated on lightboxes we see glitched pictures of the Irish landscape – images that the artist Richard Forrest transferred to computer, converted into audio MP3 files, edited using audio tools, saved, and finally remade as images to reveal the evidence of digital corruption. Beside each lightbox a set of headphones plays the audio that mirrors the picture, while elsewhere in the installation the familiar shape of a poppy's seed head is represented in plastic, 3D printed form, a faintly recognisable shadow of its natural origin. .. Using a variety of technologies old and new, C/:forward investigates ideas of perception, transformation, and the link between the material world and the world of information – both digital and chemical.
