Richard Schwarz's of_pixels is an installation artwork that puts a frame around time itself. Two large TFT screens hang vertically, with a webcam standing in front of each screen that captures footage of the onlooker and slowly projects their image – partial, pixellated – onto the screen. Like a digital long exposure, the picture on screen contains more than one moment, revealing things which are still and showing only traces of moving objects. Schwarz's work is a comment on our relationship with time and speed, linked to questions surrounding the nature of a digital image.
